SL350 window issue...

Hi everyone, I am having a problem with my driver side front window. When I use the auto lock button, it goes all the way up and then down again leaving a gap of about 2 inches. This has happened about tthree times in one week. what could be wrong?

Try resetting the window.

Use the manual, not auto, opening (first switch position, before going past the detent) fully open the window and hold the switch in position for five seconds. Close the window, again using the first switch position and hold for five seconds.

See if that improves matters.

Just an update guys, since resetting the windows, its ok now, thanks again guys, what a lovely forum....

UPDATE, just 10mins ago I came home and tried to close the window using auto close button, it went up and then down 2". It did it 3 times. I then parked up and used the key from outside and it was fine, what could the problem be?

It's possible there is an obstruction or a tight spot in the window channels.

Have a close look for foreign objects and give the channels a dose of lubricant. I believe there is a silicone based one that has been mentioned on here.

Hopefully someone will be along with the name of it.
