Hi Guys

Pictures will follow, is the SL400 2015 is a R231?

Also could any give me the datacard, reg number YN15 UUM (by the way will be changing the number plate!).

Many thanks

R231

Recently bought fab" sl400 black with porcelain nappa.
I hear a faint matalic 'pinking' sound coming from mid driving side.... took it in, spent an hour out with MB technician who then spent time having a good look. Said it was nothing sinister but offered no explanation. Anyone had similar?

Hmm.... possibly that W1ghty. Maybe exhaust flap? Not sure where that is .... I shall try and record it and post it here. Doesn't make noise in neural only when accelerating. Most noticeable when pass a wall as you here it on bounce back.

I think driving next to a wall always gives a false impression of engine noise , because normally you hear engines from the cabin or exhaust as you are surrounded by noise absorbing padding .
Then you drive by a wall with your window down and you hear the noise from under the car bouncing up and think that sounds dreadful , there must be something wrong

Let's see if I can get to the bottom of this mystery sound
