Just going back to earlier advice about keeping the car hooked up to a CTEK when not in use...

A couple of days ago I watched Kent's at MercedesSource on YouTube on this specific topic and the R230 and it shows him connecting one to EACH battery.
Do you chaps do this?

I also have a BMW E31 840Ci Sport which also has two batteries (in the boot) but I've always been able to keep them charged if I just connect via the single +ve and -ve terminals under the bonnet.
No way to do that on the R230?

Mine is connected to the one in the boot and this works fine. Tried to do research on it and there’s a connection between them via a control module.

Interestingly if you connect to the starter battery under the bonnet it will keep this one fully charged but not the auxilliary battery in the boot so it only seems to work one way, so to speak. It will tell you that convenience functions are currently not available.

That's what I have found with mine.
