Hi All.
SL500 R230 (2002) Front upper wishbone ball joints have expired, this is the 2nd time in a fairly short time due to replacing the originals on 90k miles with a 2nd hand pair of unknown age.
My reason for choosing used parts is down to the manufacturing method of the arm & subsequent cost of OEM parts.
The ball joint on my car is cast into the wishbone Part# A230 333 02 01 & therefore non-replaceable as a service item. However, I see that later parts are of a fabricated alloy construction with a bolt in replaceable ball joint.
So here is my question.
Is there a part number of a built-up wishbone (maybe Part# A230 330 01 38 ?) that I could use as an alternative to my cast items Part# A230 333 02 01
