Hi, I have been reading that some early 129s had a problem with wiring harnesses but no one could agree on the years or if it was a recall, as im looking to buy one at the moment i would really appreciate any info on this, Thanks, Gary

Just peel the loom back and look at the wires. The sheath covering the copper cable should be intact.

Worst years for the biodegradeable merc wiring were 94,95,96 and mostly in the 6 cylinder engines as OLLIE says. There was no official MB recall/problem acknowledgement in the UK afaik.
Thanks guys, I must admit no one in this country has said anything about this problem, it was another forum that appears to be mainly americans. Although i have asked lots of questions on here about sls its only been about 300/320s not v8s, suppose i better start checking up on them now
