Very nice and liking the upgraded HE.

Looks great:thumb:

My car was with Ed a couple of weeks ago and he said your car was due in again with him. I had my front bumper re-painted so it needed polishing and a light freshen up. Good ol Ed re-polished the whole car and applied new gtechniq coatings. I can't stop looking at reflections in glass frontages as I drive past:D:D

Really can't recommend Ed highly enough. He's a top man:thumb:

Ed looks after all of mine too and does a great job.

Don't want to hijack your thread John, but I meant to post some pics up of mine!! The photos don't do the depth of shine and gloss justice. Ed also refitted my BBS wheels for me (centre caps missing as I forgot to take them:doh:)

Car looks great Simon. Ed mentioned you had worked on your tail pipes. Would really like mine sorting out but having problems finding someone to do them. Have found some replacement ones on ebay but come from Romania so dubious about quality.

Stunning work. Silver can look so good when its polished perfectly and a nice sealant is applied.

Now you have G|Techniq on their cleaning is so much easier, dirt just slides off the coating.

John - Ed did mention to me that the SL tips are pretty difficult to deal with. I've got c63 rear boxes on my car and have to say the quality of the tips is nowhere near as good as my original e55 ones. The inner part can't really be polished up as it has quite clear marks / ridges where the stainless has been formed to shape. Additionally the actual polished inner lip itself has quite deep ridges and pitting which again are probably where it has been formed.

No matter how much I cleaned the polished part it never looked any good, I tried all sorts inc wire wool and scotch-brite pads with metal polish. So I bit the bullet and attacked them quite aggressively!!! I used a dremel with a sanding drum attached which was quite a course grit. I literally ground the stainless until I got rid of all the pitting / ridges. Obviously that didn't leave a good finish as it was pretty course so all the machine marks were evident. I then worked through various stages taping off-cuts of scotch-brite pads to the dremel attachment and using metal cutting polish and finally doing the same with off-cuts of microfibre and a fine finishing polish. It was worth it, but took bloody ages:wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::D

Can you remove the tips on your e45 Simon. Problem on the sl is that they are welded on and near impossible to work on in situ.

Looks gorgeous! A tip for you is the HE looks excellent if you paint it black. Hides it a bit more.

Love the car. Mine is back on Tuesday :D

No John the tips are welded so had to do it insitu. Get the dremel out mate:thumb:

One thing you should check is whether the SL tips are plated or just polished stainless. I assume they will be stainless like mine so no problem getting aggressive and cutting into them but.....!?

Ed worked on my 25 year old Peugeot and literally took years off it to where people ask if it has been repainted.

Ed showed the pics of your Peugeot, it looked great, lovely colour too:thumb:. He said it's pretty much your favourite car, reminds me of my youth:D

It has a certain significance as one of these was my first car and finding good ones these days is very hard. A favourite car though - I have many cars to scratch many itches so I can't say really.

Photo's please.

Perhaps Ed will pop some up here of the amazing restorative work he did.

My ears were burning, hopefully these don't get taken down, I did enquire about sponsoring this section of the forum but never got a reply.
