SL55K at my local indie

popped into our garage and our mechanic John has a SL55k in with a failed boot mechanism, he showed me the faulty pump he had managed to remove, the pump alone cost £750

The car looked wonderful in a tasteful shade of black. He thought that sighting the pump at the lowest part of the boot in a convertible might have something to do with moisture collecting near it and then hastening the pumps demise.

Yes this is a common problem, I've rapped ours in a plastic bag and the car has a cover on most of the time.

Very common issue. The roof seals leak. I'm doing two at the moment!
