A man came round the house today to quote for doing some tree work in the back garden.

Upon hearing the doorbell I opened the door, expecting to see his pick up or van or the like.

This is what he appeared in (with 47K showing) - note the plate, which is the company name:

Damn - I can see a slipped tile....

Don't see the problem, he's obviously the main man - I doubt he'll be 'on the tools' on a daily basis. A successful business - not a bad thing in my book :)

Needs new centre caps and number plates though!

Nice car. Centre caps on the wheels look weird though? And cheapened by the dodgy plates IMHO.

    The car, very nice.

I'm sure he loves the plate but it does look tacky to me.

C8 - CB Most people do not need the nudge to see what is being got at. Smokey may just have a word.

PS I know it's parked on a slope, but looks like it's sitting rather high (600s have ADS as standard ...).

    I had a plasterer turn up in a SL500 for a quote.

Thing is the prices these are now its no more than an ok ford focus....some of the older SL's more like a cheap fiesta...

He drives a van all week and its his toy.

He got the job and did a great job of plastering :)

He was parked on the road, but I asked him to "drop it on the drive" as I rushed for the camera :thumb:.

I do use my SL500 sometimes when I'm being paid fuel costs. I've had a few people raise their eyebrows, till I point out that it's cheaper for them than turning up in my Vito.

They both do about the same MPG on a decent run (high 20s), but diesel fuel is more expensive.

    Hoe Hoe

Following on from the above I had another company around today to quote for one, yes one day's work to prune, cut, drag (to the front of the house) and shred some tree branches and bushes in our back garden.

Three men and all the appropriate gear.

    How much do you think?

Don't know but I had a tree surgeon round a while back to cut down a willow tree and grind its stump and remove everything... Cost just £100.

Highly recommend if you want his details.
