SL63 bumper - can you affix diffuser after bumper is in place

Anyone know if the diffuser that si fitted to the SL63 bumper can be fitted after the bumper is fitted or does it have to be fitted to the bumper first?

It just clips in on lots of clips so I would guess it can be fitted after the bumper is on the car, but want to know for sure.
