SL63 leaves biker on country road!

Crazy on a single carriageway public road populated with other traffic in both directions .

I'm pretty sure that has cropped up on here before.

Nuts - one mistake and it is game over.

Not sure how this is news?

180mph £13,000 bike performs as Mr Yamaha says it will

200mph £100,000 car does slightly better and performs as Mr Mercedes says it will. Safety aside someone is getting a lot more bang for their buck.

I bet they both had a fair adrenalin rush!...And it would appear no children or animals were injured during the episode so all good!:thumb:

Tony.

How dare you! At least 3 flies died on car windscreen and number plate! :D:D:D

I've been driving 500s for too long now, I need a 63!!

In all seriousness, and the madness aside, I was cured of any speed fixation one weekend when a deer came from nowhere in the New Forest, missing me by inches as it ran across the road (I was doing less the 40mph, but the deer was on a set course, regardless), and there was nothing I could have done had I been going faster. The following day, someone from here met with me with a view to buying a pano roof, and he took me out in his newly acquired SL500, which he stuffed into a tree, with me on board (but not the pano roof!). Again, nothing I could have done, but I think the deer was the most frightening thing, due to its speed and instant appearance from behind bushes from nowhere visible. Other drivers' lack of attention and debris on the road also scare me, yet I feel strangely comfortable on autobahns at speed.

That said, you'd really need eyes in the back of your head with these two coming up from behind you as you're about to overtake.

Not only for the two racers but , more importantly , also for any innocent bystanders they might hit at those speeds .

I suggest that was more down to good luck than skill .

While , with proper training , it is possible to drive on public roads at high speed , there is always a high element of risk because of the uncertainty of a third party doing something unexpected , a mechanical failure or some other unexpected circumstance/event that cannot be planned or compensated for at these speeds .

Unless there is real need for such speed in a genuine emergency ( and there hardly ever is ) with proper risk assessment/justification , then such antics should be confined to private roads or tracks ; otherwise to certain bits of German autobahn where such speeds are legal and expected by other road users .

At which point...

Safety aside someone is getting a lot more bang for their buck.

.....the bang from the car is going to do a lot more damage weighing nigh on ten times more than the bike.

I think that's very wrong if they want to race do it on the track!!:ban:
Just think if one of your children was crossing the road at the time!!!idiots!!!!

I remember the days when I was on my ZX 7R going at some pace on Snakehead pass, a hare jumped out of the bushes, thankfully, I missed it by a few feet, didn't even had time to back off, it happened so quickly!!

Phew!!

Nothing worse than a hare out of place at speed!

Madness? Yes, but you must admit the drivers in the vids have some balls.
