Sl70 for sale im UK

That’s lovely. Strangely I only did a Google search for SL 73 for sale today.

Very nice. And such a Q car. I believe this rather than the 73 version is the engine Horacio adapted for the first Zonda. I looked at buying a 73 in Germany in 2015, interestingly for around the same price as this sold for here now. Was put off by a friend who said AMGs never gain value. I wonder what that would sell for now.

I also wonder what it’s like to drive. Nose heavy? What did AMG do to that V12? Did it gain more urgency or just cc?

That's a fair chunk of cash for a 26 year old car - albeit an extremely nice one.

All the most expensive cars are a lot older than that

I would have thought for 125 large it would have come with the carbon steering wheel :)

R129 AMG models were:

AMG 500SL 6.0 (V8 M119)
SL60 AMG (V8 M119)
SL70 AMG (V12 M120)
SL72 AMG (V12 M120)
SL73 AMG (V12 M120)
SL55 AMG (V8 M113)

When AMG was the real thing!
Not like today as a washed out brand.

It's a shame this car had a tacky steering wheel, didn't look exclusive at all.

Possibly the ultimate AMG of the era.

There are a couple of RHD SL73s around - they were built by AMG for the Sultan of Brunei and had 565 bhp rather than the "standard" SL73's 518 bhp. They pop up for sale now and again and have been discussed here in the past - IIRC a member bought one of them.

Actually, that's the SL72 AMG.
Rich folks got so pissed, that they manufactured the SL73 afterwards to satisfy demands.

??

AFAIK the SL72 was only made in 1995. The Sultan of Brunei's RHD cars were built later, when the SL73 was already in production (hence his were tuned for an extra 50 bhp to make them exclusive).

This is the thread here that I was thinking of:

Link doesn't work for me.....

About 10 years ago I was offered a set of the 19" 3 piece brabus monoblock 1s from the above car for £400 !!!!!! I didn't buy them because of the silly low offset and at the time they were somewhat "cheesy"

Funny how tastes come around again !!!:doh::doh::doh:

Those three spokes would have to go...they look out of place and ruin the whole car to my eyes....original or not!!

Yes you would be right with reference to RHD cars.
I wouldn't take that thread too seriously honestly seeing that it's till an open book LOL

Only 35 SL72's were ever made. Rarest R129 to date
