SL73 badged as SL70 (R129)?

Hi all,

Am curious about my SL70 (R129) and hope someone can help with the following queries:

- My SL70 has a 7.291 engine with stated 510 bhp. Apparently, this was the “rare” version with only 5-10 made.
- SL73 is spec as 510 bhp (sometimes reported as effective 525 bhp) as well, with an estimated 80 cars made.

Questions:
- Was my car really a SL73 but just badged as SL70 (could be a transition car?)
- How many of these “SL72” were made?

What year is your car? SL73 weren't made until 1999. They replaced SL70 introduced in 1997 (7055cc, 496BHP, 720Nm).

A small number of SL73s were produced in 1995 and then they manufactured more from 1998. If yours has the 7.3 rather than the 7.0 I would contact AMG and get more info! Interestingly the 7.3 litre block is what Pagani use.

When you are in photobucket, on the RHS it gives you and IMG tag link. Just copy that and paste it into the forum. No need to use extra tags. What you paste should look like this but without the @ symbol after the first . I put it in to show the link.

Is this your VIN? Says 7.0 which makes sense seeing as your car was built in 1996.

Why did the put a 140 sticker instead of a 129 one
