slc450 £1300

to be fair it doesnt look as bad as most, they have a fearful reputation for rust. £5000 for a good one is stretching it imho

"easily-sorted rust around the sunroof" worries me....if it was that minr, show us a pic....

Didnt think mbs rusted:D had a look on e bay and you are right 5k would be top whack, the sl450 seems to be worth quite a bit more and also looks much nicer.

SLC is an odd car, most people would much rather have a 107 SL instead so they're not particularly desirable.

Ungainly and poor selling SLC was more expensive than popular SL counterpart and also precursor for SEC.
Nitpicking - It's 450SLC not SLC450 btw

Agreed.

They look wrong. I bought a solid one for about a grand in 05 that was solid, running and had full stainless exhaust. That was when things were good in this isle of ours.

They aren't sought after at all. I had good use from mine but only managed a small profit on re-sale; and I cleaned it up, spent money on it and had it with a full ticket.

Lots of things listed that are "easily replaced" or "easily sorted" apparently, wonder why he hasn't done it himself???

i'd expect there to be a lot more rust then he lets on.

i'd place bets its gone in all the usual places. you can see rust on the lower rear bumper valance with the exhaust pic - i bet the bumpers are rotted through.

i think an SL is a better choice, although more expensive - you have the hard top for the winter if you really want it to be like an SLC, only thing you really loose is the rear legroom that is non existant on an SL and thats if it has the seats in the 1st place.

£7k upwards should get you a half decent 107 SL but even that will need TLC.
