I have a W124 230TE with a 140,000 miles on the clock and l plan to do an oil change this weekend. Question is, l would like to add slick 50 to the engine because of the claims it makes, however, looking online, all l can see is negatives, with little positives about the product.
Has anyone here had any good/bad experiences with slick 50?
Is it just a gimmick or does it reduce friction, increase fuel economy and increase BHP?
Your views would be welcome.

Slick 50 or any PTFE additive wrecks gaskets, seals and engines avoid at all costs, Just don' go there seen too many blown engines attributed to this cr*p

All you end up is an oil filter full of slick 50

You need a certain amount of friction to seal the bores and piston rings.

Don't bother with it. Just change your old often and use a good quality oil. For your particular car, oil designed for diesel engines would do very well.

I used to add Slick50 to cars I've had in the past and it made no difference at all, in fact I think one engine was adversely effected.

My belief now is use the best quality synthetic oil you can.
