Slightly Urgent !

Good work Smeesh! Is this your first Mercedes?

Morning James. Yes, it's my first. Good mate of mine had a C Class back in the 80's and had the odd clutch from time to time... Pick the car up on Saturday so getting slightly worried to be honest. My concern being reliability.

Bought a low mileage S Type 2.7d from Stratsons a few years ago and was a absolute nightmare. Replaced practically everything. Fortunately the Turbo replacement was under Warranty. The Merc has 65,000 miles on the clock so a tad concerned that I may get hit with some major work simply due to mileage but then again may not have any issues :dk:

Pre "Changing Car jitters" I think. Never realised how much of a Beast this model is. By the way and just to clarify ,do Mercedes Owners call their car a Merc or a Mercedes ?

Smeesh.....

Mercedes it's more classy but as your's is an oil burner i would stick with Merc:thumb:....Just enjoy it and welcome to the club.

Tony.

Most of us call it 'that unreliable shed'.

Just joking, mine has only needed a glow plug in 2 years which most would consider a service item.

Probably cursed now.

The E CLASS coupe is one of the classiest and distinctive shapes Mercedes have come up with in the last few years. Although badged as an E class coupe its actually based on the floorpan and running gear of the smaller W204 C class series and non the worse for that.
Enjoy your new car.

Hi, welcome to the forum and good luck with the car.

I either say "the merc"or "the 'cedes", or "the Benz"

except the latter I think sounds so cheesy out loud, like I'm in a rap video or something

Sometimes "Mercedes" can sound a little ostentatious, and the more casual "Merc" is preferred.

Other times when being a bit show-offy is what you're after, Mercedes is good.

Depends on the situation of course.

On phone to someone trying to find your house. "Can you see the red Merc on the left?".

"What are you driving these days" conversations, you break out "A Mercedes". :D

I hate telling people what car I drive, especially girls. They instantly think 'show-off t***!'

You shouldn't worry fella, I have owned Jaguars (XJ, S-Type), BMW's (520i, 528i, 535i) and now own a Mercedes (S205 C Class)...I can honestly say the Mercedes seems better screwed together than all of those, especially the Jags.

You shouldn't have many troubles sir.

I only get that from mates who are still driving KAs, and proud, and think they're going to win me in a drag race in my heavy barge because their car is light (read sod all features, comfort or safety) and they've fitted a K&N cone filter.

Its in Ma Drive !

Well its in my drive and I am as proud as punch... Drove it up the road like Driving Miss Daisy and very very defencelessly... It is just stunning inside and out. Can appreciate the car a lot better now its on its own in full glory. Have a bit of futtering to do to get everything working but will have a play tomorrow .. Front end lights up like the Blackpool illuminations ... Absolutely delighted ...

Smeesh.....:bannana::D
