Many thanks for your thoughtsMine's a PP, which was a £4k option back then. In addition to the other stuff (you wouldn't pay that for a steering wheel...) you also get a Limited Slip Diff (the expensive bit).
Mine has also been 'optimised' ('definitely not a remap'...), engine and gearbox, for the previous owner, a race driving instructor who is the driving team leader at MB Brooklands, by a well-known tuning firm, MBS, in Suthampton. It's an absolute cracker; streets ahead of the R171 SLK 55, which had been remapped, that I had before it. The 171 was a raucous little thug of a thing, and I loved it; the 172 is more civilised, and I love it too.
Suspension. KW v3 should be on your list. Probably before those other things.I do love my 172, and having driven both, its definitely a more refined car.
I am about to fit an LSD and fiddle with the exhaust valve system and mapping so it should be plenty fast.
I don't think it needs bigger brakes considering its size.
Other things much cheaper than that.Suspension. KW v3 should be on your list. Probably before those other things.
It’s my daily while the weather is nice!Other things much cheaper than that.
If it makes it less comfortable then I stand ti be conveniced.
