im being dumb or somthing here arnt i?
Whats the problem with:-
your headunit
buy 2/3 new adaptor cables from whoever supplied you with the HU
buy 2/3 10' long phono cables (good qulaity properly shielded ones)
plug into back of HU (you cant put the sockets in wrong, they are shaped specifically for each one)
Cut the speaker cables and insulate.
run cable from HU to boot / wherever you want the amp/s.
run signal / switch on signal from HU to boot (to tell the amp to wake up)
bolt amp in boot
lay cable from + and - of battery to amp
plug in phono cables
connect new speaker cables from amp to speakers, try not to lay them in the sills alongside the cars wiring (they pick up noise from the computers ive found)
bolt in new speakers
crank it up baby...
spend ages fiddling with the levels etc to get it sounding right.
ok - get bose speakers so they are a drop in replacement with no grief.
you need a 4 channel amp if you dont have a sub
you need a five channel if you have a sub (sub is mono, not stereo) - or a 4 channel and a separate mono amp (or a standard stereo amp wired up as a mono like I did, which is often cheaper than a specialist mono amp)
doesnt seem that difficult to me.... i did mine in an afternoon...
