Hi.

I've searched for an answer to this and can't find anything. Apologies if I've missed it, but...

I've seen references both here and on other forums to keeping the various drain tubes clear on SLKs - especially the ones on the boot lips so that water doesn't get into the boot and ruin the mass of very complicated electronics and plumbing in there.

But...once one of the tubes is blocked - and it's the right hand side boot drain where the pump etc is - how do you clear it ? I've tried poking a bit of stiff wire down it, but the blockage seems very hard and seems right at the bottom. No amount of poking with wire does any good.

My question is then - how do you get at the bottom end of the tube ? It seems to end somewhere inside the rear bumper in an enclosed section.

Surely I don't have to remove the bumper ? Or if I do how do I do it ?

Thanks

Geoff

I cant help on the drain pipe but you should do the mod where the pump is turned over to stop water entering the pump, if this has not been done

If its the rubber ones in the boot I'd try working in reverse instead of poking downwards towards what might be filters etc. You got a decent wet and dry vac?, try attaching the hose on the end of the drain tube and drawing out whetever is in there. Might work?.

Portzy.
