Evening to the great and the good, hoping someone can shed light on a problem on a SLK200K.
Whether it's related to battery going flat I don't know.

Car drives fine if I'm very gentle with my right foot, however if I drive "normally", gearbox kicks down, revs go to around 5k for a while, then it goes into limp mode. In neutral in sounds as though it's dropped a cylinder.
Restart the engine, and everything goes back to normal.

I guess it's going to have to go onto STAR, but thought it worth a post, knowing what a wealth of knowledge there is on the forum.

Whilst on the subject of STAR, anyone recommend an indy in the North Worcestershire area?

MAF Sensor, didn't just affect fueling, confused the gearbox ECU too.

This fault more likely only to affect automatics more so than manual gearbox models?
No, the MAF sensor measures the flow rate of air going into the engine, so transmission type is irrelevant.

It is relevant. A dodgy MAF can mess up auto boxes smooth changing.

Running sweetly now, happy bunny again.
