    HI everybody,

I have a 2001 SLK and I've noticed that the coating which covers the instrument fascia is starting to peel in places of high usage.

Just wondered if there's anyway to repair this or is it just something that I will have to live with?

    Many thanks,

    bern

I have the same problem and although I haven't used them myself (yet) there's a company called Viponds in Australia who have developed a touch-up paint for the SLK (R170) interior called Tautflex and can supply it in most common colours:
    Leather Sand 225
    Siam Beige 215
    Scarlet 227
    Anthracite 221
    Mondria Blue 222
    Crimson 217

A lot of members of another merc forum have used it and are reporting very good results from being applied with a cotton bud or a small sponge.

cost for a 200ml bottle is approx US$25 and US$20 postage. email them on info@viponds.com.au for more details.
