SLK radio stuck - how to remove centre console

Hi,

I have a 98 slk with original radio, the clips have been released and the radio comes out about an inch, then it is stuck, so I need to remove the centre console or get to the side of the car.

Before I start taking bits off unnecessary, does anyone have any instructions for removing the centre console?

It should come out without having to remove the centre console, are you using the correct removal tools?

If someone has tried to remove it with the incorrect tool and the catches are bent, that will be the reason its stuck, nothing can be gained by taking out the console

The radio was slightly damaged at the side, so this prevented it coming out, but its now out and the new one is in.

I think the main problem was that it was fitted with the centre console removed, so there was no way it was coming out without that being removed.

One more question, where is the aerial in the SLK? I have had alfas in the past where it is in the rear window, but I guess this isnt the case for the slk?

I think you can see it in the front screen,there are aerial amps.
