SLK32 AMG - ESP Light

Evening guys,

I've recently bought a SLK32 and the BAS/ESP light is permanently illuminated. I have tried the trick of turning the steering wheel lock to lock several times with no luck, any ideas before I take it to a specialist?

Needs to go on a star really , but my first guess would be a brake light switch

Buy genuine only from a dealer with your vin , no eBay specials. Genuine ones are about £15 and take approx 30 secs to swap. Then do the lock to lock thing.

For the sake of £15 I would try that before paying for a star session

I noticed that the car had the brake light switch replaced in November last year with a genuine one from Mercedes so doubt it is that.

Anyway, I got the codes read yesterday and the outcome was; faults with the ESP sensors. There are two.

The mechanic told me that the next measure would be to replace both sensors and bleed the brakes. He turned the ESP light off and it has not appeared since after using the car for two days.

I think I will wait and see if the light reappears and go from there.
