SLK55 AMG MOT Shock!!

Because of the mods I've carried out on the car and Paul (Grovsie31) saying it will definitely fail I thought it will but to my shock I was told it sailed by the MOT with no issues at all!!

Car has Kleemann headers & down pipes so no primary CATs and X piped res!

Just two small secondary cats left!!

First time visiting that MOT garage too!

So if anyone is thinking of doing the KleemannK2 mod, go for it and it will pass with ease!

Well please, lol! ;)
I'd love to know more about the modifications to your car especially the supercharger if you wouldn't mind giving me some details.

Never had a problem with my Moto Guzzi exhaust - non-standard universal 'silencers' - with two different testers. Or with non-standard (Harley Davidson) silencers on my VX800.

Or with the SL500, which has a cat-back stainless system with only a rear box. Provided the car's emissions are within limits, exhausts seem to be pretty much down to the tester's assessment of acceptable sound limits nowadays.

No shock at all, a topic covered many many times...unless the tester knows or researches each vehicle exhaust design he will have no way of knowing CAT layout...emissions test result is critical, as yet I have not heard of any car on any forums (I am a member of several) failing MOT for minor exhaust mods (secondary de-cat / muffler box delete etc).

I also had my primary decats removed with just straight pipes put in place. Resonator box removed too with just the secondary cats there.
Passed MOT no problem.

I put up a post a while back trying to explain to people on here what i did just incase people wanted to go ahead and do it. Some were very interested in my thread, and some did not want to hear it at all. Even if i did say it passed.
Got bombarded with a few Internet trolls too who seemed to be on a wind up.

Glad your happy with your car my friend.
