I think the R171 SLK 55AMG is likely to be a future classic. If I were looking to purchase one, I'd get a steer from the guys on SLKworld.com.

No worries. I was on there a lot during the seven-years we had our 2008 SLK200 (R171). Great bunch. We went on a number of run-outs and made some friends for life. I still get on there from time to time, but as we no longer have an SLK, I don't have much to contribute these days.
