Just to confuse matters, the secondary cats are already out, but they werent replaced with an x-pipe, so im guessing the best bet when i have the resonator out is an x-pipe and NOT straight pipes.

Hmmm I'd be inclined to get the X pipe fitted where the secondary cats were and straight pipes where the resonator is. The X pipe is better fitted toward the front of the exhaust as it will balance exhaust gas pulses sooner at higher velocity, so will be more effective.
However, to save on costs it will be slightly cheaper to fit an X pipe in place of the resonator as you already have the secondary cats replaced. Will still sound superb....

Exhaust and x-pipe complete. I have nothing but positive words to say about Eldin and TopGear great experience from start to finish- I highly recommend them, and notably different to experience with other companies- no names mentioned...
The noise is amazing, cant believe I didnt get it done sooner. If anyone is in any doubt DO IT.

SLK55 sounds amazing as standard, I'd personally wouldn't touch the exhaust system.

I am pretty sure you wont loose BHP or torque. We did a C55 and did a before and after RR comparison. It gained 25BHP overall.

I personally won't do it, look into doing the Kleemann headers, you gain hp and will sound amazing too.
As far as I know all R171 SLK55s sound the same 2005-2011 they share exactly the same exhaust set up.

Just Sold a CLS55 That had a Resonator delete done.
Sounded epic!
But have replaced the Big brute with a SLK55.
