One of my mirrors takes a lot longer to fold in & out compared to the other side.
Not a major problem I know, I just wondered if anyone else has had the same problem and if it was a motor fault or something restricting it.

Hi

Mine does that sometimes, i spray a lubricant in, not really sure where:D just spray it and help it back and forward a few times while someone operates the switch and it seems to free them up.

Hope this helps

I`ve sprayed some lubricant with the cover off, on the moving components, so might try giving it a bit of exercise to see if that helps free it up.
Thanks.

I think the secret is to use them often. Cant remember when i used mine last. Inactivity causes them to sieze up.

Wifes w203 mirrors groans like anything and is very, slow silicone spray helps a lot.

I give mine a liberal spray of either 3-IN-1 or WD40 both in the rear while folded AND in the front when they are open. To get to the front gubbins, ping the mirror off its retaining clip position (towards the front of the car). This reveals the hinge pin and springs etc. Give all these a good spray every month or two. Likewise the bonnet catches and hinges, door hinges and boot mechanism.

Mine used to groan terrible. Cant hear them now after about 2 or 3 sprays.
