SLR damage repairable

Surely that BMW is beyond repair.

The insurance company should have had it crushed.
Correct, but probably never had insurance in the first place or never claimed, problem is many cars like this end up as ringers, basically a similar car will get pinched and some of the old parts moved across mostly anything with an id, the original damaged shell scrapped and the rest of the parts sold on.

It's unfortunate and a sad fact we all have to be on our guard, just the air bags / damage would write this car off, never mind the rest of it

There is a video on YouTube of an SLK with an SLR engine in it ( in Arabland of course ) , saying goodbye to a Ferrari Enzo.

There is a great big hole cut in the bonnet to fit it in.

I know of a guy in Dubai who has an SLR engine and gearbox in a G55. It is a very scary car, but the engine fits fine.

Seen a bit of action...

Is that gore on the airbags?

Yes, that thought crossed my mind.

I'm presuming it is mud or similar from the roll I guees it had - but can't be totally sure.

" Sat in workshop gathering dust" , of course we all have £88k projects sitting around until we find a couple of hours spare to carry out a quick easy fix that will allow us to make a fantastic profit on the investment made.

Surely, if you can afford £88k+ though, a smashed up hyper car would probably be quite low down on the how to waste my hard earned cash list! Got to be better to break it surely?

It's apparantly HPI clear - hence no insurance claim against it - hence the owner can do whatever they like.

As you say, a complete mess. Cars like this are usually only any good for their ID (!) and/or a few scrap parts. Run a mile!

Yup - last photo of that BMW M5, no way on earth that is economically repairable. Somebody will buy it for the ID no doubt.

I looked at this car over a year ago at 50k iirc, I told my customer to forget about it. Thought it may end up on eBay at some point, I can't see this car getting repaired, ever.
