I attend the university of birmingham. Last year i was walking to a lecture when i spotted a silver SLR park right outside one of buildings in a disabled spot. Firstly that must be one rich student haha. Secondly could somebody with a disability drive an SLR? Later it drove past me and out of the campus.

Still it looked stunning in silver with the turbine wheels, id say it has to be the most expensive (and best sounding) car ive ever seen on the road.

How do you know it was a student?;)

Why on earth not?

On the assumption that they were not displaying a blue badge, they must have been mentally disabled.

I've actually bought one of these for my son for Christmas!

OK, yes, it is only 1/18th the normal size

I doubt very much it was a student, i was joking . There was no evidence of disabled badges. I have pictures of it somewhere. ill post them if you are allowed to post pictures on the forum.

Im sure people with disabilities could drive an SLR i was just thinking they arent the easiest car to get into/out of.

Aah but you never know - there are some very wealthy students ;)

lack of a badge means it most certainly wasn't a disabled person andone who gives drivers of decent cars a bad name for being inconsiderate :(

If you check the forum out you'll find loads of pictures ;)

Depends on the disability!!

At work we get calls from people moaning as they saw other people in the disabled area - who arent in wheelchairs!!!

Im just glad i saw it, not everyday day you see a £320,000 car in the flesh. Im quite lucky really because not long after seeing the SLR i saw a Porsche carrera GT on on a test drive from the dealership not far from where i live, i love seeing expensive cars.

Go for it Pammy!

Pammy, Pammy, Pammy:bannana:

:D :D

Sorry just get a bit fed up of stereotyping disabled etc ;)

Indeed it is nice to see a nice car or two :)

Im lucky because i live in a reasonably affluent area and near some very wealthy places so theres lots of nice cars round by me, a guy down the road has a 3 yr old Maeserati, theres a smattering of AMG mercs and a Black Lamborghini Gallardo somewhere near by.

I know the feeling, a few years ago I was behind a Jaguar XJ220 for a few miles, very wide car on the road.

Id love to see one of those on the road. Just be glad you werent infront of it, ive heard many people say the brakes on those cars were not one of its strong points.

hey
I regulary drive the E55, C-class,my mothers 6 series in to uni and an array of other cars, and get weird looks, as the university oparates a parking permit system the security asked me to list the cars that i drive (or they WILL remove them) and he laughed when i added all of the cars, and now he has seen them, askes why i have so many cars, my reply was
A) To get hotter summers (global warming)
B) So he could do his job and look after them.

We need pictures!!! Who knows you could live near other members :).

Sounds like you spotted a nice motor,

Have to say every time I visit mum and dads in Knutsford city limits...theres always several flash cars obviously used as daily drivers :)

Great !!

Thing is you probably feel quite smug in your Ferrari until someone pulls up next to you in the slight newer flashier model...

oh well nice things to worry about.
