About 50% with designo classic red leather.

Time to make an offer of £100k :)

That will be 29 in the UK then out of 25m cars ?

point is there is no shortage .. there were 'long' waiting lists last year

Do you fancy one then Sean ?

Trade the Boxster and the CLS ? ;)

I could see you in one actually .....

I think it has to be my most favourite car at the moment....Love the SLS.

One day the kids will be big and old enough to not need dad to own a 4 seater family saloon...ok, a rather quick 4 door family saloon granted, but as soon as they have flown the nest thats my goal to own one of these babies:D

as soon as they are £80k, I'm in there :)

they are gorgeous though

was looking at the engine bay today .. you can see the chassis structure, the fact that it's dry sumped, and just the wonderful engineering detail.

not a lot of headroom.

Do you think it will be £80k in time for your Jolly to Scotland? That would be something special, an SLS devestating the Rest and Bethankful pass...

It would be actually arousing?

Ben, can I not interest you in the driving trip?

Mate I would love to I really would as it is one of the places on my tick list that I would love to take the 63 .... When I pm'd you I said I would get back to you so sorry for replying to you Steve, total slip of the mind. The boss checked for me just now and the week we are off in September is from the 5th and she wouldn't be able to change her holiday schedule at work. Don't want to bore you!.....

If any other trips comes up in the future though mate please keep me in the loop as I would love to meet you and the guys and here those bass line subtle tones from the 6.2L in the rolling hills :p

have been looking at these quite closely and like you said there is 29 on the mb site but there is also over 25 new unregistered units sitting at various dealerships up and down the country. then there is 34 on autotrader and 27 on pistonheads with the cheapest at £139k with 875miles on it. some of these cars will be doubled up on the three sites but there is probably nearly 100 sls for sale today which is not good news for the sellers ,some of the ones have been on sale since launch.i think the 2 tone leather black &red looks better than the classic red leather both are the same price.
with the launch of the sls cab soon the prices will only come down more i would not be surprised if we do not see 1 for 100k by the end of the year.
romans have a black 1 which list at £195k that they have for sale at£155k with 560 miles on it thats a £40k hit in a few months.:wallbash:
if some of these dealers are sitting on these cars they must be giving about £130k-£135k in the trade so a return of 10%.
i think £120k-£130k would get you 1 very soon.
i would love that 1 at romans for £130k.

agree .. I think Mercedes overpriced the SLS .. it should have been a £100k car.

When the SLS was first launched, very rare. In MK MB today, there were 2 .. 1 new and 1 used.

It was a bit of a mess trying to order one a while back, my dad was interested in one maybe 6 months before the UK release but the dealer wanted a stupidly high deposit because of the value/rarity of the car, something that he wasn't willing to give them considering they said it would take maybe a year to get the car after the launch as MB UK had set 1 SLS per dealership per year as the allocation.

Then at the launch they said they could get one within 6 months and they only wanted a quarter of the original amount as deposit, but was too late as he'd invested in something else!

It is an amazing machine, stupidly quick from the drive I've had in one and the noise it makes is just spine chilling, I can't help but think though that the new biturbo V8 unit should have found its way in there. It makes an interesting proposition if there are low mileage cars that drop to the 100k mark, though 100k or 195k it will still have a similar interior to the new SLK which puts me off, the SLS should have a completely unique interior imo.

they wanted 20k deposit, 10k initially and 10k when mb had vetted you and accepted you as a customer, some customers were rejected because they were car traders or associated with the car trade, we thought this would be very good so they would keep the supply really tight like ferarri have done with the 458, but the mistake they have made is that they had a sls in nearly every mb dealer sitting there as a static demo which in the end would have to be paid for by the dealer.
then the dealer would also have to order a forward order demo to replace the demo that was already sitting at the dealership so you would have another sls before they have even sold the first 1.my local dealer has 3 sls 1 new,1 demo & 1 in used car sales.
the first few did make 20k-30k over list but that was julys first 1s.
even though mb had vetted customers loads went straight to specialist dealers like tomhartly, romans, bramleys and the like so i dont know how they were vetting people:doh:. the thing is had they kept the supply tight the sls would still have been desirable and residuals would be better.
you are right about the interior of the car looks cheap unless you go for the carbon interior pack £6000.

whatever demand management tactics MB employed, it didn't work.

I keep seeing one parked at my local dealer parked next to an SLR.....no contest.

As someone said, this should have been a £100,000 car
