A friend in Japan who has an SLS and an E63 said he was told there is currently no limit on production numbers. He felt this may account for why the premium over a standard SLS is relatively small. Strange if true.

Over at the AMG Private Lounge forums, a guy from France claims to have placed an order and only 5 have been allocated to the country. The Americans are speculating between 100 and 400 but this seems to be pure guess work at the moment. Officially no figure has been set my MB as far as I have read in the magazines. Let's see what happens.....

The fact that no specific limit was set does not necessarily imply they won't be in short supply.

But it does explain the relatively down-to-earth price compared to limited run production.
