SLS gearbox software upgrade?

Just to say that I had TCU software updates done on cars before (not Mercs), the ODB connector is very very slow and the flashing can easily take about an hour or more - in fact you need to keep the battery on an external charger so it won't run down.

So the time frame you mention for the upgrade - including preparation, and subsequent testing - is not unreasonable.

The dealer ship here doesn't have and is unaware of any gearbox upgrade. im thinking of taking the part of the car which they neeed to reflash and bringing it down to Germany ? do you think its possible ? or they need the whole damn bloody car ?

It's already an AMG software anyway.

Yes I did! Fantastic trip and looked after extremely well by AMG. Factory tour was excellent. Car is now transformed in M mode. It's now much more like a 458, which isn't surprising as it's essentially the same transmission. Shifting is a lot quicker, and the blip on downshifts is much louder. Work took 4 hours and it's not just a reflash but changed TCU too. It's now current SLS GT spec.

AMG claim you can only get the work done at Affalterbach, and if you can get there it's definitely worth it for c1700 Euros. If you can't I'm sure people like Weistec can do something for you.

But it's not just software dump it's changed TCU which is coded to your particular car. You can get alternatives from tuners but if you want the actual GT spec the only option is to take the car to AMG in Germany.

On paper nothing that is aftermarket is approved by Mercedes or AMG. With that said, many employees of AMG are big fans and encourage us to keep pushing the limits.

I think that's a great option if you can't get to Affalterbach. In my view the difference between a 2011 standard transmission and the GT spec transmission is huge.

Whats the price for the gearbox spec to GT standard or Black series - is there a difference?

Are you able to offer a GT level power upgrade at the same time ? Understand the engines are identical so its all in the map?
