No aero kit but Im not too convinced about that anyway if it going to be my DD, although I have found out you can still purchase OEM from AMG if I do change my mind. It does however have the carbon package which I like and the overall condition has prevailed in my decision

What an absolute monster buddy !

What a beaut!👍 Better for it not having the aero kit IMHO

Im tending to agree with you, especially as not originally factory optioned. At present I can turn up in that to a meeting etc, after all its a 9 yo Mercedes so can play it down.

Maybe I'll spend the money on an exhaust mod instead.

Picking up on Monday and really looking forward to it now :)

Fantastic looking car👌

Very nice car, but i've never really understood the whole 'giving a sh*t what other people think' thing? Why would you want to play it down?

An old boss and good friend of mine once bought a Maserati 3200GT (used), he'd wanted one for a long time after years of lusting after a Ghibli, a really beautiful looking and sounding car (full Tubi exhaust, one of the best sounds i've heard from a V8). He owned it for 18 months and rarely used it for work appointments, instead choosing to go everywhere in his girlfriends 2 litre Alfa 147. When I asked him why he wouldn't use it, he replied 'Clients might think I make too much money' - shortly after that he traded it for a BMW 325i convertible......

Moral of the story? Who cares what people think and maybe more importantly, why be normal?

No offence meant, just my opinion! :)

Its all about perception unfortunately, and being self-employed with a Client base in the public sector, you just need to keep things played down a little!

It is an interesting one actually. There's a small company i work with occasionally and the owner always drives to client meetings in his Phantom. His argument is that it shows his business is successful and so prospective clients can feel confident. I don't think that works for all industries, but certainly in his case i think it does. His company is a really niche, high end technical specialist and so i think it works as the Phantom demonstrates they know their stuff enough to be successful. It's also because he pays his staff peanuts but that's another story!
