Hi guys, I'm hoping this is where I will finally find an answer to my problem. About 6 months ago I had to replace the timing chain on my car (C220 CDI W204). After the timing chain was replaced I imminently experienced loss of power and very poor MPG. The car takes a while for it to reach about 2000 rpm, way longer than it. I took it back to where I had the timing chain replaced they assured me that is not whats causing the lack of power. I have done checks on the car as some mechanics told me its the DPF which I had cleaned before and after the loss of power occurred. I also had the turbo checked; both of which are working fine and are not the cause of this problem. What do you guys think is causing this issue? Any suggestions will appreciated.

Are you sure the timing chain has been fitted correctly and not a tooth out? Many years ago I changed the cambelt on my Citroen AX GT - it ran like a dog after I started it and upon investigation I had fitted the belt one tooth out which had thrown the valve timing out.

Thanks for replying mate. I had the timing chain changed at a Mercedes Specialist and they assure me that it has been fitted correctly and timed fine. Do you think it could be clogged injectors?

If you had it at a Mercedes Specialist for the timing chain surely they can tell you what is now causing the loss of power.

Are there any check engine lights on? I had a similar scenario but turned out to be a split turbo/intercooler pipe. it did thorw a check engine light though and code P2279.
Cheers

Sounds like they don't want to admit they screwed it up. If that problem instantly started with the timing chain swap, maybe they have made a mistake installing it. Maybe some tensioner is bad, maybe tooth broken?

Really annoying.

Another thing that comes to mind is the turbo boost pressure hose (I don't know what's the correct word in English though)... but if the hose has a leak you could experience that kind of symptoms.
