Small Network Help

Hi guys,

complete novice at this.

We have two computers, mine and my dads connected to internet through the same router.

I am trying to set up a network so that we can share files.

I ran the network setup wizard on both pc's. Then on both computers created a test folder and set it to allow sharing in its properties.

Now I can see my folder on my dads pc, but cant see his on mine!

Anyone help? am i being stupid? have i missed a step??

Do a search on your PC for your dads. It sounds like it isn't broadcasting itself over the network.
Have you tried rebooting?

Fixed it thanks to Fuzzer... cheers matey!

It was because both out pc's had different windows user names, changed them both and restarted and magically worked...

now lets see how long it works for!
