thinking of getting a Smart Car for run around, any advice on the matter..:dk:

Nearly loved mine but sold it after 4 months because I could not cope wroth the truly awful suspension and dreadful gearbox. Fun with the roof down and possible to row along at a fair lick. I averaged 36 mpg which also rather defeated the point. ......

My advice would be to hire one for a couple of days.
My daughters is for sale :)

Plus is the easy to drive/park/use
Minus is two seats/not a motorway car.

I personally wouldn't bother with a smart car, I'm not all that keen on them and don't really see the appeal to be honest.

Admittedly I don't know a great deal about them but I don't even think they're that good on fuel are they?

We are Smart specialists as well as MB

I'd by an Aygo....

I just bought a 1.2 07 Micra Activ... Awesome car, good ride quality, plenty of space for shopping.

I got the missus a Fiat 500 twin air. Small on the outside, relatively spacious inside. Good ride even on low profile tyres (S spec) and great economy in ECO mode. Turn the ECO mode off and the turbo kicks in which makes it surprisingly quick. It's a car that will make you smile!

We had a Smart for her daily driver for nearly 4 years and 50'000 miles, overall it was a great little car, the only reason it was not replaced by a new one was the ride quality and she wanted something a little bigger.

We replaced the smart with a 1.6TDI Bluemotion Golf and already she is averaging 15mpg more from the Golf and all the other running costs are lower apart from the monthly payments but it is a lot more comfortable.

thanks guys back to the drawing board..
