Evening everyone.

My Om642 2010 c350 CDI blueefficiency has is mapped/tuned been having a little bit of nightmare with it to be honest with masses of black smoke after 3000rpm then when in neutral it's spits out some greyish smoke with at rev limiter 4800rpm due to the limiter being removed. I'm not quite sure if this is oil or diesel, it's smells quite potent like raw diesel and I'm not loosing any oil.

The black smoke issue seems to have gotten better after about a 1000 miles of driving. It doesn't do it after normal driving only at wide open and after 3k

Things I have done to solve this. Return to base map same issue Dpf EGR swirl off same issue.

Yes the Dpf has been removed and yes I know the rules around that. I know that diesels smoke a little with no particulate but wasn't expecting this.
Other than those issues it drives spot on, plenty of power no abnormal noises and no smoke under "normal" driving.

Here's a link to a video of the issue

Might help
I think it's definitely unburnt diesel as it does sting your eyes. Probably from dribbling injectors. But yeah does seem to be slightly better after I've put a new thermostat in.
