Recently the snipping tool has caused my screen to go completely grey if I activate it.

It's the same in IE, Chrome and Firefox.

I'm on Win 7.

Any ideas please chaps?

This a completely grey screen - you can't see anything at all apart from the snipping tool dialogue box

Sorted!

It's Trusteer Rapport.

Changed the properties that were forbidding screen capture. Job done!

Omg...what on earth are you using Rapport for?

Rapport is an awful piece band of software, total junk in actual fact. Use any other type of AV software but this.

Hi Spike

I bank with Santander and it came as a package with the online banking.

I've got AVG and Malwarebytes too.

I figured if I didn't have Rapport installed and my accounts got hacked, the Bank would blow me out for not having "suitable" protection??

Not true at all - You are not required to use it.

I would catagorise Rapport as malware in itself. It causes no end of problems and offers very little in return.

I too bank with Santander having been with A&L. They push Rapport pretty hard, so I tried it for a while.

Total junk. It's a resource hog and it caused all sorts of unexpected problems, which internet searching implicated Rapport Trusteer. I got rid of it sharpish, but I still get the nag screen from Santander wanting me to install it. Just ignore it and move on.

The current thinking seems to be that Microsoft Security Essentials is better than AVG these days.

I changed over and am quite happy with it. Small and keeps out of the way and just gets on with its job.
Not being a computer buff, it would be interesting to hear verdict from them wot are !

^^^ MSE gets a thumbs up from me for the reasons you list.
