I bought my first ever Mercedes last month, a W220 S Class and have been so happy with it I went a bit crazy and bought another, an SL350 R230. First impressions are good, love the looks and having just driven both cars back to back it feels like that between them the S and SL have pretty much all driving moods covered!

That's lovely , well done.

Gave the interior a good clean today, looks much better now!

Nice, looks really clean, you now need to get a steamer on that drivers seat to get the sag out, will look like new then!

Good choice! Like the mud flaps

Thanks again guys, I'm really happy with both of them.

The thing I would recommend anyone who buys cars of this type and age is to give the interiors a really good clean, it wipes years off the look and feel of the car. I cleaned the interior of the s class (dash and all trims) 5/6 times with APC and a nail brush before it was really clean. The same with the seats, shampooed them several times agitating the leather lightly with a nail brush. The car hadn't been smoked in, just never properly cleaned. Having only had the SL a week I've only just started the cleaning process and although it looks much better the standard of the s class tells me there is a long way to go still.

An example:

I haven't cleaned the drivers seat on the SL yet:

But I've spent a couple of hours really cleaning the passenger seat:

The shiny look of the driver's seat is dirt and oils that accumulate over time, a bit of elbow grease will clean it up and leave it with a nice matte finish.

Not sure that your cleaning technique is correct. Bring your stuff over to mine and show me how do clean yours on mine.:D
