Another question as I explore my S class gadgets.
When I display trip info and goto the consumption screen I see a little bar marked CHARGE above it. The bar goes fully green when I'm off throttle but as soon as I add a hint of throttle it slips back to zero.
In my mind if you give it gas it should charge more than if on tick over, unless this is for hybrids maybe??

Ahhhhh great was watching it on my way up to the lake district. Maybe I should have been looking through the windscreen instead though

Your car has 'smart charging' to save energy from the drag caused by the alternator. This means that 'smart charging' only charges your battery on over-run or idle when your battery has more than 75% charge.
