Car
W205 C200 petrol
W205 C Class 2 litre petrol. So the car is on the ramp after a dealer A service with spark plug change. All the covers are refitted under the engine when suddenly the entire contents of the oil change pour out of all four corners of the plastic sump cover.

When I get the car back after the big cleanup the nearside wheel arch and radiator fan are still covered in oil as though the engine oil has been sprayed out under pressure.

So what happened?

I would guess the drain plug was not refitted correctly.
I hope the dealer has refilled the oil to the correct level and checked for leaks.
If there is still visible oil, take it back and get them to clean it all up to your satisfaction.
It's the dealers error.

I'm a little surprised the dealer didn't vac the oil out. Perhaps they usually do making refitting a drain plug an unusual task.

Hope they've not sucked the oil out of the gearbox then filled the engine...

I'm a little surprised the dealer didn't vac the oil out.

If they had they would probably have tried to re-use it....
