200 mph

Hi lopes, No my best is 198 mph.

But considering the headwind I am pleased with Sundays result.

Mark.

So a merc was the fastest... Happy days :)

Gents, what a great bunch. Thanks to all of you for coming and for your excellent conduct. Thanks to le Chippy for all his hard work also!

All welcome back anytime, great to see you.

Craig

No, silver grey Porsche 911 on Dutch plates was putting in 21xmph speeds all day - apparently reached that 3/4 down the runway and bounced on the limiter.

CT3 managed 203mph I believe.

The Mercs were down a bit...

Cheers Craig. Well organised event as was Starfire. Great day.

Hope your Porker isn't going to cost a fortune to sort out!

Last Saturdays Vmax day

Just to say what a great, but reeaallly cold! day Saturday was, my own thanks to Nick and Craig for all the hard work sorting the day out, really felt for Nick, all the work done, and his car lets him down at last minute, but always another day for you Nick, to which I hear there may will be. This said, I know even Craigs own Porsche broke down on route to the event with a coolant fluid leak, and he then hitched a lift to get there.
My thanks for the great company on the day, Marty, Sav, JohnEboy, Benjy and Markbe, good talking to you all, albeit did not get to have time to chat with Mark or Benjy as much as I would have liked, seemed to always be talking or doing something, also missed out meeting Graham, sorry, hopefully another day, but I did hear from Marty that your car was quite impressive for stock, hope your not going to be getting any modding ideas:devil:, there were already far too many over powerful Audi's there already, those Audi V10 cars were awesome, in particular Nigels R8, some car to actually see and hear.
Maff turned up in the usual classy style, two ferrari's, ran them both and then helicoptered out, what style Matt!.

The silver 'RUF' Porsche with the NL plates, was unbelievable, ran so many times back to back all day long, and was unblievably quick, it was a sight to see and great entertainment.
I see Marty has as ever produce an amazing vid of the days events, and as the others have already said Marty, you are so in the wrong job mate, thanks for your time putting it all together my friend:D.
Regretfully never managed a head to head with Paul (Savman) who as ever was great company, on the day the ongoing things with the cars never allowed it to happen, but hopefully one day, but would have been very informative to both of us had it occurred:(.
My own speed for the day am being told I did a 189, but most of my passengers saw only 184, 186 and a couple of 187's, and I was too busy braking to look myself, so got to say a little dissappointed with those results, given the more recent mods that have been fitted, but there was a head wind on the day, albeit this did not stop a few of the Audi's and Porsches going well over the 200 on the day, so its back to the drawing board, which started as I arrived back at the Hotel in the evening, glass of wine, and plotting what I can do next:wallbash: LOL! A great fun, but cold day out, really enjoyable.

On another note the guys that that have left me PM's, I will get back to you in the next 24hrs, just got to catch up with some work, only got back this morning.

Your passengers only saw...

You mean these speeds are measured in the car? I thought you had proper timing equipment on the track no?

I think he means looking at the speedo / or device on dash if there is one.

The speed you go passed the proper traps makes it a little tricky to see your final tally and you need to be braking at that point...

Ricky,

The Black Ruf CTR was Leon's and the silver one was Henrik's Nine Excellence car - the 9E17 :thumb:

Really was a great day despite the weather at times, my car was pretty disappointing struggling to get past 182 mph it was not built for this type of event and it held its own in the area I built it for which is off the line in the first 1/4. I nailed everything I went up against to the first bend but in the straight no top end speed!
Was just about to go up against Ricky head to head when I noticed oil sprayed over the front of the supercharger so took the wise decision to call it a day. Managed to get a close look on Monday and looks like the front seal on the supercharger is leaking but only when under extreme load. Will get on it this weekend to get it fixed in time for a 1/4 mile run on the 12th May.
Until next time Ricky!

Well I have just been corrected my top speed was in fact 183 mph, strange before the event and on the day if I was told I had only hit 183 I would have been really dissapointed but the fact I thought I only hit 182 the news made me feel good :dk:

my mistake Nick, your absolutly correct mate, still both cars were awesome on the track.

Nick, let us know if another Vmax raises its head anytime:thumb:

Look forward to it Paul, hope you get the car sorted out over the weekend mate, hopefully another event later in the year:D

What mods were done on the SL600 to hit 197mph?

Not that much.....Kleemann ECU TCU, 200 cats with 3" exhaust, LSD, uprated inter-cooler pumps, lowered suspension, gives 731 bhp and 925 fpt. Weighs 2003 kilos, eats front discs and pads every 2500 miles! Oh and a CD of 2.9.

Mark.

Has anyone seen the full results for the day yet or is it a case of wait until they appear on the website?
