Soft Tops

Having just bought a clk convertible, I just wondered if a soft top motor packs in is it possible to get these things up, or down manually (by hand) ..... also, do they fade ?

Check the handbook. With my SL there's certainly a procedure for operating the hood manually.

Renovo hood restorer has a range of good reviews here and elsewhere... so if it is a little faded that should bring it back to colour and also have the water beading on it again...

Definitely instructions in the handbook; in my copy it's pages 404 - 412. Apparently your tool kit should contain two straps and an allen key for this purpose - I wouldn't know as mine's a coupe!

Yes, there is. And there's a special spanner in the tool kit for it. I can't remember what the procedure is. I'm sure someone will have posted a video on youtube.
