Solar battery charger.

Is it possible to make the rear seat area power socket live in an E class w211 (year 2003) without having the ignition turned on, so that i can connect a Sunsei SE150 Solar Trickle battery charger when away on holiday?

Prob easiest to wire it direct to the battery iirc they come with a diode to stop back flow, mates wife old escort always used for short trips and always had starting probles stuck one of these panels on the dash and never had prob again.

Is it worth it as car will surely start after a few weeks away?
