Hi

I have solar panels in the roof of my E500, but I have no idea what they do or how they work.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Tan

Should be covered by the user manual. The panels produce electricity for the blower to allow it being run while the car is parked and keep the car cooled.

Would it power the "rest" function, I think that is what it is called.

Any idea how I can test it works?

The rest function is mainly to keep the car heated when parked but it also cools the car if the ambient temperature is high enough (no need for heating). But it works from the battery.

The solar panel should work automatically. It activates after a 2 minute run-on time, then after a further 10 seconds the blower is started. But the car has to be under an open sky and the blower power depends on the strength of the sun shine.
