I decided to sell my W140 S600 last week after getting a good offer from a long standing Mercedes-Benz Club member.

Not sure how I feel now really.....I was using it a lot less after buying the W211 Estate.

Now have the lovely 500Sl 107 and the estate.......been ages since we only had 2 cars, however what do you do if you find that you are not using something?

Should you just keep it for the sake of it, or sell it to someone you know will cherish it? Too late for me as I have decided......time will tell if it was the right decision but I shall miss that car..

If it is not being used, then selling it is the right thing.

I loved my SL500 but it just sat there doing nothing - now with an equally fanatical MB owner so it has gone to a good home. It is personal thing but would rather go to someone who actually wants it.

It gives it the chance to be used, rather than garage queen cars which just settle into a cycle of decline. They may look nice and shiny but the work needed to recommission them is often silly.

For that reason I laugh at the ads that say "if it does not sell, I will put it in storage and take it off the road". Brilliant idea there - nothing better for a C215 or R129 than to sit idle for years on end.

i think either or.. sometimes its better to sell on and allocate your resources to something else, and also, depending on how u feel about a specific car, its worth keeping... also, depends on what the reason was that u originally purchased it.

Not many of us V12 owners left on here :(

*ahem*
