Solid or vented front break discs on a C180 W202 1994 ?

Hello everyone,

I just got my C180 W202 (gasoline, 1994) from the repair shop. The mechanic told me that he has replaced the front break discs because they were worn and I notice that they are solid (non-ventilated). Is it possible that the car was coming with this kind of discs originally? I am a bit surprised to be honest.
