Solutions for side bolster wear on leather seats?

The previous owner is actually quite slim. I guess just wasn't careful enough with the bolsters.

The car has done fairly high mileage (around 33,500 now) for its age.

Maybe it's bony butts that cause the problem. :dk: haha

Still, 33k is not high in terms of the life time of the car. Guess it's a lack of care or just awkward getting in and out (maybe depends on where he parks!?). Hope you get it sorted though chap.

Haha I do agree bony butts are bad for seat base. I'm quite slim myself and my leather seat base always has imprint of my bony butt :D

Still yet to hear back from Mercedes..

My 3 year old 15.6k miles is beginning to show wear....been using autoglym leather care cream which has helped

Been more than a week after I dropped by at the dealership and still no word.
Might have to chase them up before the week passes.

Update:

Rang the dealership today but the service advisor guy was busy with a customer so left a message.

The guy returned my call just now (+1 in my books as a lot of people never call you back in similar circumstances) and Mercedes has given the go ahead to replace the panels in question. GREAT NEWS!

Parts have been ordered and will take a few weeks to arrive as it's on backorder apparently. Not too bothered as long as it's getting fixed!

It's good news that the dealership is going to solve keejoonc's problem :thumb:
For those having to do the job themselves I can thoroughly recommend Scuffmaster Scuffmaster | Leather Colours | Leather Dyes
I had never done the job myself before, but I was well impressed with the result.

Glad it is being done under warranty as . I have the Artico/ Liverpool cloth in my car which I am pleased about as I do 30,000 miles a year and in other cars have found it a faff to keep the leather cleaned and treated.

How much time did it take to fix/replace parts of the seats? I'm looking to buy a car which is still under warranty and bolster on driver seat is in awful condition. One big crease on the inside part of seat. I wonder whether to pursue with dealer I'm buying from or take it to local one after collection?
