Not that this is unique to my ML - although having said that, it's not the most solidly built car ever... but what would you suggest in solving little rattles and squeaks inside the car? A good example of this is the centre armrest. It's not made very well. If you lean on it, the armrest creaks - the sound of iffy plastic grinding on iffy plastic trim.

I wondered if a self adhesive felt might help by applying to contacting trim. Do you have any hints or tips to solve these?

Hello

Mine seems quite good so far but then you will soon have a scream child in the back and even if there alseep you have all their toys, pram, changing stuff etc etc that will rattle anyway....

You learn to live with it or turn the tunes up ;)

There are lots of things you can do. Locate the rattles first and work out how to stop them by removint the item and padding it out or lubicating it at the "rubbing"points.

I fixed a rattle from the rear view mirror casing using a packet of adhesive thin rubber pads I found in Tesco for 99p.

The biggest problem is finding exactly where some of the rattles are coming from, mine sounded as though it came from the passenger side when driving, and the drivers side from the passenger seat. Took a long time before narrowing it down to the mirror casing.

Is there not a silicone based substance that MB dealers use? I recall it being quite expensive but the results are pretty good....
