Some 212 questions

Wasn't it stop/start that made it Euro 5??

When did that come in?

All 212 are EU5 - the early 231 meet EU5 through DPF. My 231 does not have stop start (thank god) but has a DPF.

EU6 is met with the later 254 version of the engine with Bluetech.

Excellent! Thanks. (Again).

And thanks to the London Mayor for FORCING me to get a petrol. Happy days :-)

(always fancied a CGI)

(so surely it's not a DPF then - it's just a PF? or a PPF? or something?)

Yeah it will be NTG4.

How can you tell? I'm not sure to be honest, I guess part numbers, but they often list what car it came from, so say 2010 E Class, or 2015 C Class etc.

I guess it is a case of searching part catalogues etc.when you see a part number.

Mercedes-Benz E parts catalog | MBFans.info

I will start hunting. Any news on where to buy the connector from?

Is yours a CGI?

If so do you happen to know if it's Euro 4 or 5?

Reading the AA site the Euro 5 guidelines were released in Sep 2009 and made mandatory in Jan 2011.

Wondering when Merc started making Euro 5 compliant 350 CGI's

Looking for something that I'll still be able to use in central London in 2-3 years time.

Mines a diesel but is euro 5 not that it's relevant as your after a petrol. As before these were met with the dpf fitted.

You can buy the MOST cable and the connector from Mercedes, you also need a most connector/joiner and some wire with the connector ends on it.

If you look on the parts catalogue you should be able to find the part numbers, will cost you around £40.

Be careful choosing the DAB unit, make sure you know it will work with your car. I have one from a 2015 NTG4.5 car, it doesn't work in my 61 plate E350. It sees it on the most ring in position 2 as a DAB unit, but it says device unavailable when you select DAB from the radio menu.
Worse than that I can't leave it in place as it reboots the media interface every minute or so (or probably everything on the most ring but I only have the media interface).

LondonScottish. I can't pm you to reply to your message. Please pm with email if possible.

Thanks for the pointers I will do some research and try and get the correct part numbers etc I did find a reciever but it's sold very quick was up for £240 which I thought was a tad expensive.

And was not the correct one for your car either. ;)

I think it's like 30. But your email bounced also. No doubt you'll give me a shout if something arises

Saw it on eBay, but it was for the later NTG4.7.
