I always find these quite interesting and one I found of particular note is the Ford Sierra at around 11:25 which clearly has (what would be if not as I presume water) petrol being forced out of the fuel tank.

Some of the speeds I used to do in cars which are probably as unsafe as these cars in the video is particularly sobering.

Who would think a metro was ‘safer’ than a ford ranger

The Sierra one is scary. I've owned several Sierra's in the past, but looking at that....

I proper laboured under the delusion that large vehicles were safe.

I was aware from seeing Volvos in early crash tests that making something strong is not good if the occupants absorb all the energy of the crash... but I never thought a large vehicle would crumple like a matchbox.

Interesting vid, thanks for posting. I agree about the Sierras too!
One that I always remember is the Holden Commodore one:

I own a series Land Rover and it always makes me vexed when someone on the forums says how they piled into a small hatch and obliterated it, little do they know that if the small hatch hadn’t have absorbed all their energy then they would probably be very seriously injured

That's frightening.

I would for one. A Ford Ranger has an old style ladder frame chassis (like the majority of conventional 4x4's) that transmits the full force of any collision directly to the occupants.
A Metro is a modern monocoque construction with crumple zones.
